Day 6 and 7- Sea Day 2 and St. Maarten

Day 6 and 7- Sea Day 2 and St. Maarten!

Before I came on board I thought I would get maybe one tour of the ship one day of training and then be sent off to do my job but nope. I'll be in training and going through different orientations all week. It's a lot different then what I was expecting but I'm glad I've not just been dropped off and told to play with the kids.
My room is much smaller than I thought it would be. Less walking around room then I thought and I can't sit up in bed. But the bathroom is bigger then I thought. I was picturing a airplane bathroom with a shower head over the toilet but it's not that small.
The first night wasn't so bad but when I woke up I could definatly fell the waves. But after a sea calm pill I'm felling fine. There will be times when I try and put on a pair of my pants and almost fall over from the movement! Some waves or swells are worse then others. And it depends on where you are on the ship. To me it feels worse down in the crew areas then it does up top but they say it should be the opposite.
It's hard to describe all the things about the ship but imagine the old submarine movies with the low ceiling and the raised thresholds but the walls are all white and the floor is bright blue. Monday morning I was supposed to be at a security meeting but got so lost I was almost 20 minutes late! I took a wrong turn down some stairs and I must have been doing circles. All the crew is super nice... It's disney after all and are willing to walk you to where you need to go. I'm getting much better but that's all the areas I have to go each day like the mess or to the hr training room.
Our second day at sea was more of the same, training with Kenny and Jim and getting to know the ways of the ship. But then on Tuesday we woke up to the greatest site ever... Land! I woke up that morning and didn't have any issues putting on my pants!!! We started off the day with a life-raft and safety training and then an all crew drill. If we are to ever get stuck in the life rafts I know I will be in good company, I have to performers on the raft with me. Billy and Steve are both from London and performer an act at several of the bars every night. They were super fun to talk to. But the safety officer, Marko, kept asking us question since he thought we weren't paying attention but we were so we got all his questions right!
A little after 11 Beth and I had our feet touch land for the first time! We decided to walk into town and have some lunch. After our lunch we did some light shopping and headed back for the ship. Even though I'm a Phoenician and should be able to handle the heat it was just too hot for us to spend a lot of time outside.
I'll have to say that Kenny is an awesome trainer, for our training he had us do a scavenger hunt to find different things around the ship and to help us get to know the ship. Then after that we got to play with the kids in the club. There was a pirates of the Caribbean party last night on the deck so down in the club we were helping the kids become pirates! Soooooooo much fun! The little kids we so cute.
St. Maarten was fun and we are on our way to St. Thomas tomorrow!

Day 4 - Embarkment

Day 4 - Embarkment!

Today was amazing!!!! I can hardly believe what today has been like! I'll try to put it all into words.
As I'm writing this it feels like it's been a hundred years since I woke ip this morning up it's only been 15 hours. Beth and I had to be up and ready to go downstairs by 5am. We decided to get up at 4 to make sure we had everything ready to go on time. We luckily did wake up on time and made it on to the bus bound for the ship. About an hour and a half into the drive I looked out the window and their she sat! My new home for the next four months! And man is she beautiful! You should all look up pictures of how amazing this ship really is, but seeing it in person is the best way to go!
The whole day has been a wurl whil of ship tours and safety training and all that fun new hire stuff!
One highlight though is I got to take a nap! We had about a two hours break in the afternoon so I got to lay down and recharge my battery!
I got to meet my leader and training counselor for YA, Kenny! He is amazing! Steph- you will remember him! He just got back from vacation and was her trainer on the Wonder! He says to hi and that your amazing and he misses everyone from the Wonder!
Alot alot alot has happened today but it's hard to tell everything in one post!
Just know that I'm having an amazing time and I miss you all!!
Lots of Love!

Day 5 - Sea Day 1

Salvation of the day... Sea Calm!
I know im a big baby but unfortunately my tummy does not like all this rocking! Hopefully my sea legs will arrive soon!
First day fully at sea. No land in site and an beautiful and majestic endless ocean! Today was alot of the same as yesterday lots of training and being shown parts of the ship we will never ever see again! :)
But it was still cool to see everything!
We spend alot of the day with Kenny being trained on policies and procedures and what to do and what not to do!
Kenny also took us to see the show on board tonight! It's called Cinderella Twice Charmed and it basically is a continuation of the Cinderella story! It was amazing! It made me miss the theater alot! So cool!!!!
Again not a lot I have to tell about today but each day that I learn more it become more concrete that this is what I was meant to be doing!!!
Lots of love!

Oh ps! The food isnt that bad! Not a big selection but still filling!

Day 3 - Traditions!

So day 3 is now over we have moved onto day 4... A very early day 4! We had to be up and out of our hotel by 5 am!!!! Yes that what I said 5am!!! But of course that didn't stop Beth, myself and the others from spending as much time at Epcot and Hollywood studios!
There is not much I can tell you about Traditions, company secrets and all that! But let's just say if you ever have the opportunity to go to Disney University GO! it's amazing!!
So after Traditions the group of us went to Hollywood studios to try and catch of few rides before the park closed. We wanted to ride the Rock N Roller coaster but they had closed it for the day by the time we got there so we went straight to Twilight Zones Tower of Terror. There wasn't a long line so we rode it 3 times in a row! It was hilarious! Victor had no clue what to expect and ended being the most adamant about riding again and again. But the greatest memory of tower of terror was from the last time I was at Disneyland! We were there with my parents and grandma, and some how we had gotten my dad on it with him not knowing much about the ride! As most of you know on the tower of terror you are in a haunted elevator that takes you high up in the air and then drops you down several times in a random order! Well my poor father ended up going on this ride and screaming his head off!!!! His facial expression was so priceless grandma had to buy the picture just to have physical evidence of what his face looked like!!! :)
So day 3 ended with us all having Popsicles by the pool and exchanging hugs with our new friends! We all promised to email and facebook so I'm holding you all to that!
Lots of Love!

Day 2... DISNEY WORLD!!!

Well day two has now come and gone and was it a doosey! Even though thank to Giggles I knew part of the day I would be able to roam around Disney World, it was still exciting when our trainer have us our crew member ID's and said "Have Fun." And so we did!
But let's back track and I'll tell you about the people I met today.
First there is Shannon... No not me! Another Shannon! She is from North Carolina and will be in the nursery on the Wonder!
Next is Alissa! She is from Texas also on the Wonder but she will be a YAC like me (I food out they call the Youth Activites Counsoler, YAC for short!)
Then there is Brett! He is from Colorado and will be with Beth and I on the Magic and during the Lights Sounds and Pirotecnics.(I know it's spelled wrong!!)
Then there is Alec who I have decided is my new friend of the day! Alec has been working for Disney for 9 years with the special department and most recently ran the Disney owned movie theatre and soda shop on Hollywood blvd in Hollywood! While he worked there he got to design tins and apperel that would be sold in that gift shop!!!!!! How cool is that! He told us about a couple of his limited edition pins that are selling on eBay for $300 plus!!
So those friends plus Beth my roommate and Victor and Zsotti (not spelled wrong) from Romania, the eight of us took on Disney World by storm!
Needless to say I had a great day and I am looking forward to going to Disney University tomorrow!!!
Lots of Love!!!

Hello From Orlando

I made it!!!!
It has been a busy day but I have made it! After having a great dinner last night with my parents, my grandma, Pete, Pete's parents and Aunt Jennie I went to bed with huge butterflies in my stomach. I woke up this morning to one of my favorite kind of days... Cloudy and stormy! But it was hard enough leaving Phx without having rain!!! So unfair! My flight left at 9 but thanks to my dads advice I went to the airport an hour and a half early... Well dad actually wanted me to go two hours but an hour and a half was perfect.
I got there went through security which had the longest line I have ever seen and I worked at a movie theater I know long lines! :) I waited 25 minutes to go through security then literally walked right on to the plane! Great timing on my part! I had the awesome luck of getting the window seat but not great luck by naming an old Indian guy who smelled like curry! But oh well I had pretzels and peanut butter and RED VELVET CAKE!!!! so I was set for my flight! The flight went quickly and with out any problems. Got off the flight called My mom and Pete to let them know I got in ok and headed for baggage and the bus to Disney!
The line for the bus was long to I was just staring off into space when I noticed the girl in front of me had the same bus voucher as I did. So I asked and she was not only new to the cruise line but Beth ( that's her name) will be on the Magic as the same position as me and is my roommate while we are in Orlando! How cool is that!!!
So far today has been great! But I'm sad to be away from all you! I will defiantly update as much as I can!
Lots of love!
